Crail Pottery is smashing!

In our holiday cottage we offer a welcome tea tray for weary guests to have a wee cuppa when they arrive. I've been looking for an excuse to replace the cups with some gorgeous Crail Pottery for ages! So I spend a lovely morning mooching around the pottery and chatting to the very talented folk who work there. You could literally spend hours looking at all the different styles and artists work.
I found out all about how the pottery started in 1965 by Carol and Stephen Grieve, they bought the buildings for £250 and rennovated them all themselves. There is a lovely story on their website. The pottery is now more of a cooperative with various family members involved and some incomers, it all makes for a wonderful variety of work.
The pottery is only a few minutes walk from the holiday let, on the way down to the harbour and is so worth a visit, you can watch the artists at work downstairs and then peruse the hundreds of pieces upstairs.
