Changeover day, what's it all about?

Why is check in not until 4pm and why on earth do we have to leave at 10am?
Getting your holiday cottage ready is a military operation requiring speed, organisation, an eye for detail and a commitment to perfection. We would like the house to feel like you are the only people who have ever stayed there so one of the first things we do is to remove all traces of the previous guests, including any lingering aromas!
This isn't your aveage house clean, every plate is checked, every drawer is cleaned and you could eat your lunch off the bathroom floor!
We are very fortunate to have the lovely Lyn who lives locally who is in charge of the changeovers, in her previous career she was a window dresser so she is amazing at presenting the house beautifully.
This is also our window to check every appliance, light bulb and tap to make sure everything is working as it should be. We are also tremendously fortunate to be supported by some amazing local tradesmen who pull out all the stops if I phone them on a Friday morning saying "Please come!"
